"Unleashing Creativity: The Connection Between Exercise and Innovative Thinking"

A new study from scientific reports suggests that physical exercise triggers enhanced mood and improved creativity. It had been thought in the past that creativity from exercise was supported through the endorphins released enhancing mood and then unleashing creativity...but this new study shows there is a direct link between movement and creativity.

Exercise increases BDNF (a key molecule involved in plastic changes related to learning and memory)

Exercise also reduces stress (when we are stress neuroplasticity is reduced).

Research also show that both aerobic and non-aerobic movement are beneficial and whether you are inside or outside ? it is the act of moving that makes all the difference.

So how do we train to be creative?

We move our bodies, we manage stress, we do something positive, we spend time with others, we allow our mind to daydream and we build resilience.

So if you are having a creative block, book into a class with others, lift some weights, go for a swim...and let those creative juices flow, while also benefiting your overall health.
